Accessibility Statement
Sonoma Savanna Youth Foundation is committed to making its website usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use assistive technology.
Accessibility supports the Foundation's mission to inspire, educate, and heal through experiences with wildlife and nature, for every child and family, in every setting.
The standard being followed
This site works toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA. These international guidelines help make web content easier to perceive, operate, and understand for people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, and other tools.
Steps taken so far
- Descriptive text on images, so screen readers can describe what each photo shows.
- Clear labels on form fields, so donation and contact forms can be completed with assistive technology.
- Full keyboard navigation, so the site can be used without a mouse.
- A logical heading structure that makes pages easier to move through.
- Color and contrast chosen with readability in mind.
- A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task. Some third-party tools, such as embedded donation forms, are provided by outside services and may not yet meet every guideline. Improvements continue to be made over time.
