Safari to the Sea

Hold your breath, we’re going underwater!

We are currently working with our partners to bring our young naturalists “Sonoma Savanna Live” in underwater ecosystems. With this technology, we’ll be able to dive deep into underwater habitats and learn more about some of the most diverse ecosystems Earth has to offer.

More from the Foundation

New name, same stewards of wildlife

You might have noticed that we’ve recently changed our name to the Sonoma Savanna Youth Foundation, and we couldn’t be more excited! During the last few months we’ve been thinking about how we can make the biggest impact in the education and conservation sphere as possible and developing new systems to make that happen. As a result, we needed a new name to reflect our expanded mission. Stay on the lookout for updates and events!

Is it hot in here, or is that just the desert?

You heard it here first: we’re heading south! We are so excited to announce that we will be partnering with The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert, CA as part of our “Sonoma Savanna Live” programming. Here our young naturalists will be able to learn about different animals from emus to big-horn sheep to African Prairie Dogs! Don’t forget your sunscreen!

3…2…1… YouTube incoming!

As part of our expanded programming, our programs and media specialists have been working behind the scenes to develop standards-aligned educational content to be used in the classroom, in the field, or as an adventure for your little ones on the couch! Our pre-recorded shows will cover different animals and ecosystems, and maybe even some adventures out in the wild. Get ready to lace up your hiking boots!
